46100 was the primary goal of my visit to the gala, and I managed this objective before I had even started travelling.
At this point the locomotive had been sent to the Severn Valley Railway for running in on its second "debut" after overhaul (the first having been curtailed when serious issues were found and the locomotive was withdrawn for further work). The locomotive was now in BR Green, its (contentious) LMS Crimson livery having been changed to something considered more authentic for a rebuilt "Royal Scot" class.
