LNER A3 Class no. 4472 "Flying Scotsman" at Evesham, 23rd June, 2001
Taken with a Minolta Dynax 505si, using a 28-80mm lens and Fujicolor Superia ISO 400 film

Although the original print was in 6x4, I've further recomposed this to remove the people on the right of the image.

In 2001, 4472 "Flying Scotsman" worked several tours along the Cotswold Line.  Having missed the first visit by in April 2001 (ironically, I was in Peterborough, its "home turf"), I got a second chance in June when it returned from Worcester on a rail tour.    I had originally decided to photograph it from Worcester Rd with a long lens, but the amout of vegetation blocking the view from this location resulted in switching to the down station platform and a change of lens.   It was also fortunate that the train had to wait a late-running down service and was held in the station rather than at the signal box (which would not be necessary now after the redoubling).
