P55986 - Gatehouse, Brockhampton Estate, Herefordshire - Brockhampton Estate

This dates from around 1530.   The moat that it spans was originally larger, although was always more of an ornamental feature rather than a defensive one.

I must admit this would have worked better in the morning, rather than the afternoon and I think any return visit will take that into account.
