In August 1907 Robert Baden-Powell brought 22 boys from various backgrounds
to the island for what turned out to be the beginning of the International Scout
Movement. This monument marks the location of that first scout camp, and the
island is still used by the Scouting Movement today.
This was a somewhat awkward shot, as the lighting was behind the
inscription, so I shot slightly at an angle to keep the sun off the lens.
