Evesham Regatta 2016
Photographs from the first day of the event.   I was on site from the beginning of the racing, but didn't quite stick it out to the end; due to failing light, I decided to leave just before 7pm, prior to the last few races being run, but as these were finals, I decided that there was good chance that I had already photographed the crews involved, and it would probably not be too much of a loss to finish early.   I managed to photograph 192 of the 222 crews listed in the documentation that I had, which works out at as an 86% coverage officially, but I believe that at least 3 crews listed did not race, which increases the coverage to 88%, either of which I consider to be good enough to call this a comprehensive record of events.   All of the crews I photographed are represented in this collection.

As per my usual plan I started out on the Workman Gardens side of the river in the morning, and switched to the Abbey Park side at around 2pm.    Also as usual, I took "inbound" and "outbound" photographs (the former as identification shots), but in a modification to my normal photographic strategy, I didn't always limit myself to one "outbound" shot per crew per race.   This coupled with a change in camera setup seems to have reduced the number of shots lost due to quality issues experienced in 2013 and 2014, and I am extremely pleased with the overall results.

I would also point out that I have no official status on this event (and don't want any at present).   I would also ask that, for security reasons, any juniors wishing to contact me regarding these photographs ask an Appropriate Adult to do so on their behalf.
