Evesham Regatta 2017
Please note that these are not official photographs from the event. I would also request that junior rowers do not attempt to contact me directly, but ask either a parent, guardian or club official to contact me on their behalf.
Photographs from the first day of the event (the Saturday). I took photographs from the start of the event, until around 7.30pm, not quite making it to the end of the racing, but deciding to end early due to concerns about failing light. Whether or not that meant I lost out on some crews because of this is debatable, and I will revisit this subject later in the collection.
For the most part the day was overcast, with the sun briefly breaking through around lunchtime, and again during the early evening. As a result I was working at higher ISO settings than I would have preferred, and was somewhat concerned that this might seriously affect the quality of the photographs, but in the end the quality was not too badly affected by this decision, and for the most part, the photographs appear to be of good quality. I ended up taking 1,065 exposures, a new daily record; I might have taken even more, but was worried that I would exhaust the camera batteries before the end of the racing if I overdid it. In the end, after 11 hours work, I still had 50% battery power left on the camera, so I could have taken even more if I'd wanted to.
I appear to have photographed 221 of the 251 crews listed in the Saturday event guide, making an 88% success rate officially, and images of all these crews are included in the collection.
It is currently my intention to withdraw sales facilities after the 27th April, 2018.
