Cropthorne Walkabout 2017
Photographs from the first day of the event (the Sunday). Having failed in my 2016 objective to photograph both that year's Cropthorne and Fladbury Walkabouts by not photographing the Cropthorne one, I was determined to get to this event in 2017, and managed it. I chose to visit on the Sunday as when I was planning my weekend's activities, it looked like the Sunday would have the better weather, although somewhat overcast, and in the end that's what I got. I might have been a little better off on the Monday as there was more sunshine, but this was intermixed with rain showers.
I managed to visit most of the gardens and this collection is in location order, based on the event brochure. I was in the village from around 11.30am to 3pm, when it began to rain, and I decided to call it a day. I had photographed the Evesham Regatta the previous day (the first time since 2010 that I done both events in the same year), and by this point I had taken the best part of 1,200 exposures over the two days; the most intensive weekend's photography since "Wartime in the Vale 2015".
