Having the searchlight work in tandem with the Anti-Aircraft gun was a first for the event, their equivalent of a fireworks display. In fact, this is how I ended up treating this exercise, having the shutter open as the gun fired, although if I'd known this was how it would end up, I would have tripod-mounted the camera as well (I was using a monopod).
