Moving into the main event arena on Corporation Meadow, the first activity was a Cavalry Display, featuring various activities. This is "Tent Pegging", where the rider attempts to spear an object on the ground.
From this point, and for the rest of the day, I switched from my 250mm zoom lens to my 500mm one. However, I might have been better off on this activity with the former as the tent-pegging area was quite close to my position and I lost shots I might have gained with the shorter zoom lens. I also lost the first activity in this session as my focusing settings were unsuitable for it (fortunately I realised the problem fairly quickly and changed to a setting that did work).
