The locomotive passes through the birthplace of the man responsible for its creation: Sir Henry Fowler.  I believe that this may well be the first time a representative of the class has been through Evesham in preservation (the tour had been originally diagrammed with LNER A3 class no. 60103 "Flying Scotsman", but 46100 was substituted instead, due to mechanical issues with 60103).

Under other circumstances, I might have shot the locomotive crossing the River Avon, but because of the above significance of this working, I wanted a photograph emphasising the fact it was in Evesham.  On  that, at least, I believe I succeeded as I managed to get a station running-in board into the shot.

The photograph was published in the "Evesham Journal" on the 2nd November 2017, along with a short article written by me explaining the significance of the visit (This was the second time I'd had a photograph published in the "Journal" and my first ever combined photograph and text publication).  It was also used in issue 35 of "The  Warrior", the newsletter of the LMS-Patriot Society, again with text provided by myself, and as of summer 2025, has made it into the 2nd Edition of my late father's book on Sir Henry Fowler (and guess what, with some text by me as well).
