This is almost certainly the closest I will ever get to photographing an unrebuilt "Royal Scot" class locomotive, since both of the preserved full-size versions are in (and almost certainly will stay that way) rebuilt condition. This version is lacking nameplates (in this case "The Royal Air Force") and, looking at a later image I took of the locomotive, a smokebox number as well (I suspect that these may be added at a future date).
I wanted a ride behind this locomotive, but due to the demand for rides later in the day, I ended up settling for a ride behind 1102 instead.
