Knightshayes (pronounced Knights-hayes) is a National Trust property just north of Tiverton in Devon.  The main building dates from the 19th Century and the gardens date from the 20th Century.  The initial design work on the main building was done by William Burges, commissioned by Sir John Heathcoat Amory (1st Baronet), but this work was felt to be too ambitious for Heathcoat Amory's needs and John Dibblee Crace replaced Burges.  The gardens were developed after World War II by John Heathcoat Amory (3rd Baronet) and his wife Joyce.
