We now move to the cavalry demonstration on the 2nd, which took place in the main arena on Corporation Meadow. When I did the equivalent activity in 2024, I used my 500mm zoom lens, but on examining the images I felt that most of them could have been done with the 250mm lens, and I might have lost shots with the former that I would have got with the latter. Both cavalry sessions in 2025 were done with the 250 lens, and I think it worked reasonably well. At a 150mm minimum focal length with the 500mm lens, this shot would have been probably have been a lot different; most likely with too tight a composition.
On this session I concentrated more on the horses than the actual activities, and I think it produced some good images, or a least they would have been if Evesham Leisure Centre and car park wasn't intruding. This is the third production version of this image, being reworked to remove the leisure centre from the background, using a different method from the previous version.
