75069 was a guest locomotive for the event; returning the favour for 6880's appearance at the Severn Valley Railway's Spring Gala the previous month.

This marked my return to Far Stanley in some time (possibly two years) as I hadn't used this location at all in 2024 for various reasons. I was very glad to see that the lineside vegetation was minimal, and offered generally unobscured shots of passing trains, and I spent a couple of hours here on what was, weather-wise, the best day of the gala.

Feeling a little adventurous, I decided to attempt a low-speed panning shot on the westbound workings I photographed here. This was my first attempt, and for a first time, I don't think it's too bad, although perhaps I could have done with a slightly slower shutter speed. The blurring effect is "as taken", with the camera's image stabilisation turned off to stop any attempts to compensate for the blur.
