In August 1907 Robert Baden-Powell brought 22 boys from various backgrounds to the island for what turned out to be the beginning of the International Scout Movement. This monument marks the location of that first scout camp, and the island is still used by the Scouting Movement today.
This replaces a 2014 shot, but again the lighting was somewhat against me.
