This is the most easterly point on the Isle of Purbeck; the towns of Poole and Bournemouth can be just made out in the background.
This was my second visit to the site, on a repeat of a walk I did in 2008 on my first Swanage holiday (in this instance, I extended the route west of Studland to visit the Agglestone - see earlier in the collection). As on my first visit, I walked up Ballard Down from Swanage, although it was perhaps somewhat harder in my early fifties than it was in my late thirties, and I suspect any future visits to either location may well involve starting in Studland.
