I got lucky with this exposure.   I had intended to photograph this sequence with multiple exposures, but forgot to change the camera setup to do so.  Fortunately, I fired a shot just early enough that by the time I realised the error and pressed the shutter again, the locomotive was more-or-less where I wanted it.
