P72731 - GWR 4575 class no. 5521, Dean Forest Railway, Gloucestershire - Lineside - Dean Forest Railway

Taken a little further north of the previous photograph from a public footpath that runs alongside the track here (from behind the fence seen in the previous photograph, and around the point where the signpost is).   This was the last weekend of operation of the locomotive (seen here in a London Transport livery) before it was withdrawn for overhaul.   

This was probably the best photograph of the day, but could have been better.   There was not much I could do about the direction of the locomotive as the line's policy is to operate locomotives facing north due to the line's gradients into the forest.    However, because I wanted to swing the camera round for a shot on the crossing itself, I started this shot a little too early and had to recompose somewhat drastically.   The shots on the crossing didn't work out in the end, so I would have been better off concentrating on this side instead.
