Seen running round the train. Note the fact that the locomotive is facing south; normally the locomotives face north due to the gradients of the line, as was the historical case (unless a locomotive was working to Coleford, which this one was quite definitely not!). I believe this may be the first time I've photographed a south-facing steam locomotive on this railway. From what I later picked up, this may have been as a result of filming work on the 10th season of the BBC series "Father Brown".
I had initially intended to visit the railway the previous weekend for an Autumn Steam Gala, but this was cancelled in favour of doing another event in 2023. Having done the previous month's diesel gala, I did want to photograph steam on the railway, so ended up visiting on a standard steam day during the month instead.
