We start the collection on one of the Battlefield Trails on Greenhill to the north of Evesham. The trail (which I will refer to as "Battlefield Trail 2" ) runs from Greenhill to Worcester Road across the site of the Battle of Evesham, which took place in 1265. The Battle Well is found at the north end of the trail, and yes, it is just a hole in the ground.
