The original Severn and Wye Railway station here was somewhat larger. However, after the line's closure, developments encroached on the original station site, and as a result, the Dean Forest Railway's station here ended up somewhat smaller and a little further south from the original's site.

This shot is looking north towards the Norchard and the Forest of Dean.
